About the webmaster
My name is Michaël Moons. From childhood I had a passion for all things maritime. I made my first ferry crossing when I was just 2 years old. For my parents it soon became clear that there was a passion for ships in the making always being more interested in the passing sea and the ship than the playing area aboard.
That passion is something I inherited from my father who, like me, was passionate about ships from an early age. I made dozens of crossings with him to various destinations and he made me even more passionate about shipping.
Sadly my father passed away in 2006 whilst he was alone on holiday in England. The ferry crossing we had to make then was probably the hardest one we had ever made or would ever make. Six months after his death I wanted to do ferry crossings again to honour all those we had made together and to keep the long tradition going. That is why I would like to dedicate this website to my father.
Since then I have been making regular crossings again from Calais to Dover, still my favourite route. Those 30 or so kilometres of sea will always have a special meaning to me. I have never kept track of how many times I have made this crossing but it must be near to 100 times already.
